Frequently asked questions

Let's connect

  • What is the difference between yoga therapy and children’s yoga?

Yoga therapy is a fusion of western psychotherapy and yoga philosophy, the aim of a therapy session is to implement a combination of yoga and trauma informed approaches that can help the child feel better able to understand, manage and regulate their emotional responses whilst improving their overall functioning when faced with challenges.

This is in contrast to a ‘standard’ children’s yoga class that would predominantly have a focus on physical movements seen within yoga practice, often in larger group.

  • How long does a yoga therapy session last and what will we do?

Sessions tend to last for 60 minutes, and may include Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (breath work), sound, stories, yoga nidra, mindfulness practice, or even forms of craft. There is often a ‘play’ element, unless the need calls for calm and relaxation.

Each session is tailored to the individuals needs.

  • How much does a therapy session cost?

Cost varies dependant on location, whether the session is an individual or group session. Please contact me for more information.
